In addition to photos, news articles, books, and other DeFord memorabilia, many hours of taped conversations and music, recorded by David Morton, have been placed in two libraries: Southern Folklife Collection, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Nashville Tennessee Public Library. In addition, some items have been placed in the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.
